Tipperary social media reacts to Choice-Based Letting of homes in Premier County

Over 30 houses in Bregawn, Cashel, have gone up on Tipperary County Council's Choice-Based Letting system this week.
Cllr Liam Browne said: "It is hugely important that people register their interest in these houses, if they wish to be considered for them. But please, register your interest as soon as possible."
But social media has been reacting to the news and many people are not happy with the scheme.
One user said: "The system is so frustrating. I would love to buy one of these houses using the deposit that I've worked hard to save for.
"The other Bregawn houses are way out of reach with the prices. These ones are being handed out.
"Surely some should be allocated to the Affordable Housing Scheme to allow middle income earners secure a property also."
Cllr Browne replied: "You're absolutely spot on."
If you're on the council housing list, you give the council three choices of areas you'd prefer to live, if a house becomes available you can then register your interest.
In the old system, you might be living in Cappawhite, but offered a house in Carrick-on-Suir.
With Choice-Based Letting, you would apply for a house when it comes up in an area suitable.
