This week on the Local Business Promotion Series I am delighted to be joined by Seanie and Kate O Halloran from the famous Bridge House Pub in Golden, who are celebrating 25 years in business in the Pub this month.
The Bridge House is a very historical building and there has been a Pub on the premises serving the Community since 1790.
Prior to operating the Bridge House, Sean and Kate had both worked in London and that is where they met. Sean worked for Kents and Kate had been running a Pub in the City.
Kate is originally a Derry woman but the couple returned to Tipperary in November 1998 to purchase the Bridge House from Leo and Mary Glynn. For the past 25 years they have established one of the finest Public Houses in the entire County.
The Bridge House serves an array of beverages in a very warm and welcoming environment. It caters for all types of family occasions and events ranging from Christenings to Birthdays to Funerals to Weddings, and everything in between. The Pub has a great Function Room to accommodate larger events from the area.
The business has had a very loyal customer base over the years, with Golden-Kilfeacle and the surrounding area being a 'great place to do business in'.
The couple are very grateful to all their loyal customers down throughout the years.
The Bridge House is also a wonderful employer in the area and the O'Halloran family have always given a chance to local people, especially those in School or in College, by giving them part-time jobs.
Down throughout the years, the Bridge House have been a strong supporter of local community organisations and events. They enjoy sponsoring local teams and holding events for all of the community in their Pub.
Sean was involved in the construction of the Community Centre and he also was Chairman of Golden-Kilfeacle GAA Club and he held the role of selector on the Senior Hurling team for 8 years.
Kate is also very involved in the local community as are their two sons, Seanie Jr and Thomas.
The opening hours of the Pub are from early until late, seven days a week. The O'Halloran Family would like to invite everyone to their 25th anniversary celebrations which will take place on the 25th of November. There will be live music from 6pm that evening in the bar.
It was wonderful to speak to Seanie and Kate and everyone in the locality wishes them continued success for many more years into the future.
