Tributes paid to 'great GAA supporter' after sad passing following short illness

Rest in Peace

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Daniel “Danny” Carew of Sologhead Beg who passed away on Tuesday, May 9, following a short illness.

Danny who was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Kathleen, sisters Mary, Pauline and Breda was the last remaining member of one of Sologheads oldest families.

We sympathise also with his nieces Caitriona (Hyland), Margaret (O’Dwyer), nephews Seamus and Eamonn McKeogh, grand-nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Following Requiem Mass in St Nicholas’ Church Sologhead on Friday last burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.

A great GAA supporter and notably west Tipp activity, in his younger days Danny lined out with his beloved Sologhead and certainly it was fitting to see his coffin draped in the red and green banner as it made its way to his final resting place.
