‘theo’ KOJAK
Many referred to him by his nickname, ‘Theo’, as Frankie was a huge fan of the popular TV series, ‘Kojak, where Telly Savalas played Theo Kojak.
Frankie had friends all over town and was always a great support to so many people.
He had a long association with the Shortall family, The Valley, with the late Nellie, and also with John and Marianne.

Frankie was one of life’s easy-going personalities, with a positive outlook and devoid of worries.
This verse, ‘For Frankie’, read out at his requiem Mass in the Parish Church, sums up Frankie’s attitude to life.
A Poem For Frankie
When I leave this earthly toil
Give what’s left of me away
To children to set them free.
And old men that wait to die
Walking the street and
Sitting at the bar beside you
Looking into a beloved pint and
Watching horses racing on tv
Or listening to jazz
Living by his own law
Beholden to none
No tech or mobiles here
Talking of odds and accumulators
Off to the bookies to place a bet
“Be back in a minute, order
Me a fresh pint!
I want to leave you something
Something better than words
Look for me in people
I have known and loved
And you
Will find me in their eyes
As I really was
And if you need to cry
Cry for your brother secretly
Love doesn’t die just people
And when we leave we
Become love again
So, when all that’s left of me is Love
Unspoken
Give me away as I was always free
