Cahir Tidy Towns gained  11 marks in this year’s National Tidy Towns competition.

In a statement, Cahir Tidy Towns said they were delighted with the huge increase again this year and paid tribute to a wonderful group of volunteers.

"This is a huge increase again this year. The competition begins in May each year so we are 5 months into 2026 competition already.

Thanks to everyone who helped during the year and to those who support the group financially and with administration.

We have a great group of volunteers and an active youth committee assisted by Tipperary County Council and TUS workers daily. There are too many to mention but you know who you are. If you can help in any part of the report please don’t hesitate to contact us to make retain our medal and gain more points in 2026.

Bronze Medal retained in this year’s competition, well done everyone for all the hard work. Congratulations also to Tipp town on achieving the Bronze medal, Cashel, Emly, Clonmel and Kilsheelan who achieved Gold medals.

The Green Flag awards will be announced on November 12 and we hope to be in the running here too. Meetings on Wednesday evenings are on hold due to fading light but we meet on Saturday mornings, weather provided, until we are winter ready." said the statement.
