Crews have been working to restore water supply in both Coalbrook and Carrick-on-Suir

Uisce Éireann is working to restore water to customers in Coalbrook who are experiencing a disruption to their supply following a burst water main in the area.

The affected areas include Earlshill, Ballincurry, Monslatt, Coalbrook, Ballingarry, Harleypark, Gurteen, Knockanglass, Foilacamin, Broomhill, Knockbrittas, Mardyke and surrounding areas in County Tipperary.

Supply is expected to be fully restored and functional early this morning.

Following the repair works, it typically takes three to four hours for normal service to be fully restored to all areas as the network refills.

It may take longer for customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.

Separately Uisce Éireann crews are continuing to carry out complex repair works in Carrick On Suir to a burst water main.

Expert water service crews are on site, carrying out the repair works. Every effort is being made to complete this work as quickly as possible.

Again, uninterrupted water supply is expected some time this morning.

An alternative water supply remains in place Greenhills Village Estate.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty thanked customers for their patience for the duration of the outages:

"We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused."
