URGENT: Important alert for Tipperary voters wondering where their polling cards are...

An important alert has been issued for Tipperary voters wondering where their polling cards are...

Independent candidate for Tipperary North, Michael Lowry, has said: "There have been many calls to my office from people who have not received a Polling Information Card in the post for Friday. This will not prevent you from voting.

"The Polling Information Card that was sent out in the post in recent days is for Information purposes only. This card advises you of where your Polling Station is located and other necessary information, such as the number of the Booth you should go to in order to cast your vote.

"It is not a form of identification and voters are advised to bring some form of identification with them in case it is requested – Driving Licence, Passport, Employee Identification Card that includes a photograph, Student Identity Card issued by Educational Institution that includes a photograph, a Public Services Card etc.

"If you have voted at the same Polling Station in the past, it is likely you will do so again on Friday.

"The best way to check all your details and to verify that you are on the Register of Electors is to visit checktheregister.ie."
