Well done!

Loughtagalla Park and Residents’ Association were nominated by Ely’s service station in Thurles as a worthy recipient of a €1,000 Inver’s Leading Lights donation.

Loughtagalla Park and Residents’ Association are currently working on a project to improve the park by adding a new lit walking path, sensory garden, and biodiversity natural trail for the community to enjoy.

“The wonderful park has been in existence since 1963, and is used by all the locals, including my own children!” said Ronan Ely – Inver’s forecourt partner, adding that “the addition of a sensory garden would be of great benefit, particularly to children and young people with intellectual, sensory, and special needs.

“The illuminated walking path would allow people of all ages in the community to walk and enjoy the scenery in a safe environment, while also catering to the social needs of older people.”

For many years, the park has been at the heart of the Thurles community, and the development project will allow everyone in the community to appreciate it.

The sensory garden, in particular, will promote social inclusion and will be the first of its kind in Thurles and the surrounding area.

Inver is delighted to contribute €1,000 to the park’s future development; this is what their Leading Lights programme is all about.

Leading Lights is Inver’s unique initiative which supports localities around Inver service stations at the grass root level.

Every year Inver forecourts partners have the opportunity to support and recognise organisations and charities that work hard to make their communities a better place.

Since 2016, Inver Ely’s Thurles, located on the Mall in county Tipperary used their Leading Lights donations to support admirable charities like Little Blue Heroes, Bernardos, Suir Haven and Hospital of the Assumption to mention a few.

Inver thanked Ronan Ely for nominating such a wonderful organisation and congratulate the Loughtagalla Park and Residents’ Association on their tremendous commitment to this very important community project.
