Prestigious awards ceremony returns for the first time since 2022 with former Galway All-Ireland winning captain Joe Connolly as special guest

Twenty-seven individuals from across Tipperary will be honoured for their outstanding contribution to Gaelic games this Sunday, November 8, when the Laochra Gael awards ceremony makes a welcome return after a four-year absence.

The prestigious presentations, which last took place in 2022, recognise the enormous contribution made by individuals who have dedicated much of their lives to the promotion and development of Gaelic games at club, divisional and county level.

This year's ceremony, the 19th staging of the Laochra Gael presentations, will take place in The Dome at FBD Semple Stadium, Thurles, at 4pm, with 27 recipients from clubs throughout the Premier County set to be recognised for their years of dedication, commitment and voluntary service to the Association.

Former Galway All-Ireland-winning captain Joe Connolly will be the special guest of honour at the event, which provides an opportunity to acknowledge the often unseen work carried out by volunteers who have played such an important role in the development and continued success of the GAA in their respective communities.

Among those being honoured are individuals from all four divisions of Tipperary, with clubs from across the county represented in this year's list of recipients.

The Mid Tipperary recipients include Mick Duff (Killea), Tom Hassett (Moyne Templetuohy), Michéal Egan (Gortnahoe Glengoole), Liam Ó Donnchú (Thurles Sarsfields) and Larry Kavanagh (Thurles Gaels).

Those being recognised from North Tipperary are TJ Egan (Borrisokane), Seán Ryan (Ballinahinch), Liam Greene (Moneygall), Anne Maher (Borris-Ileigh), Gilbert Williams (Kilruane MacDonaghs), Catherine Gleeson (Kiladangan and Moycarkey Borris), Matt Lillis (Nenagh Éire Óg) and Paddy O'Brien (Toomevara).

The West Tipperary recipients are Michael Ryan (Solohead), John Martin (Emly), Noel Browne (Galtee Rovers St Pecauns), PJ Caplis (Sean Treacys) and Stephen O'Brien (Rosegreen).

Meanwhile, those being honoured from South Tipperary are Albert Curran (CJ Kickhams Mullinahone), Patsy Ryan (Ardfinnan), Michael O'Keeffe (Marfield), Colm O'Flaherty (Cahir), Hugo Browne (Killenaule), Tadhg Howard (Cahir), Billy Carroll (St Mary's), John Joe Nugent (Newcastle) and Joe Kennedy (Carrick Davins).

The return of the Laochra Gael presentations is a welcome development for Tipperary GAA, with the ceremony shining a deserved spotlight on the volunteers whose commitment and dedication have helped sustain Gaelic games throughout the county over many decades.

Tipperary GAA has extended its congratulations to all 27 recipients, thanking them for their outstanding service to the Association and for the significant contribution they have made to their clubs and communities over the years.

Attendance at Sunday's ceremony is strictly by ticket only, with all guests required to have a ticket for admission.
