Latest forecast models just rolling out are bringing in much cooler air by middle of next week, says forecaster Alan O'Reilly.
He added: "Note these are upper air temperatures not lower level, however this would feel very cold. Interesting weather is getting closer now so stay tuned.
"Lots of people asking about snow, the current models show none up to Monday for Ireland.
"Beyond that is very uncertain and snow depth chart are generally very poor even in short term.
"So if you see any bear that in mind. Cold is coming, snow? Wait and see for now but end of the coming could see an increased risk.
"Also the latest charts show the cold continuing for 10 days possibly so we could see this cold prolonged."
