Inactivity of Cashel Town Centre first Team highlighted by public representatives

Inactivity surrounding a group set up to promote Cashel had to be addressed, Cllr Declan Burgess told a meeting of Tipperary/ Cahir/ Cashel Municipal District.

Cllr Burgess told the meeting that no activity had taken place concerning the Cashel Town Team.

Cllr Burgess said the last meeting of the group had taken place in May and nothing had happened since then.

“We have not had a meeting since May; there has been a lot of inactivity. We are either committed to the town project, or we are not,” said Cllr Burgess.

Cllr Burgess said people had signed up to the Cashel Town Team and there had to be engagement.

“I would hate to see another month go; it's a joke. I would love to see activity on it; otherwise, there is no point in having anybody on it,” said Cllr Burgess.

Cllr Liam Browne asked officials if Cashel Town Team was going to be put back together again.

He felt the existence of the group was helpful, and the group had made some good decisions.

District Administrator Anslem McGowan said the person responsible for organising meetings had departed. He assured Cllr Burgess that he would arrange a meeting of the Cashel Town Team as soon as possible.
