LATEST: McGrath and Moloney romp home in Cahir Local Electoral Area

Two sitting councillors returned in Cahir
Cahir poll-topper Cllr Máirín McGrath said her vote was a testament to the hard work she had put in over the last five years.
"I am absolutely thrilled, it is overwhelming, to be honest. I campaigned so hard. My vote has increased so much since 2019, which is amazing. It is a testament to the work I have done over the last five years," she said.
"I am a young candidate and people my age see it as refreshing to have a young person elected to the council. So many young people are finding it very hard to get on the housing ladder and a lot of them are emigrating and they recognise the fact that their age group needs representation," she said.

"It is good for me and it is good for the community, we have a very small team and I want to thank them all for the work they all put in," he said.
"I am very proud of the fact that the tremendous work put in has made Cahir a destination town. Everybody is on board for the betterment of the town.We have so many progressive groups in the town and I am delighted to be part of them and support them," said Cllr Moloney.
