Local Tipperary Lions Club to host annual Golf Classic with a new twist

Thurles Lions Club is delighted to host their annual Golf Classic, and this year they are bringing something extra special to the fairway.

While any team of three can participate, they are thrilled to incorporate Tipperary’s first-ever Inter-Parish Golf County Championship.

If all three members of your team reside in the same Tipperary parish, you can proudly represent your parish in this competition.

Get ready for the ultimate “Clash of the 9 Irons”.

The Golf Classic will take place from Tuesday, August 18 to Friday, August 21, in the Thurles Golf Club.

Teams will consist of three players, with the competition open to all teams, including the new Inter-Parish Championship.

The entry fee for the competition is €210 per team, which includes both green fees and a full dinner.

All proceeds from this event are in aid of the Thurles Cathedral Re-Roofing Project.

Thurles Lions Club have proudly committed to raising €50,000 over 4 years to help restore this iconic landmark, and they say your participation makes a massive difference.

The club says slots fill up fast, so they encourage anyone interested in playing to grab your team and lock in your timesheet early.

If you wish to enter, you can call William McDonagh, of the Thurles Lions Club, on 086 379 7881.

They say that you can pay on the day you play, and encourage everyone to support the cause and spread the word, rally your parish, and make this the biggest Golf Classic yet.
