Italian soprano to perform at Cashel festival alongside global guests and ambassadors

A major international cultural event has been confirmed for Cashel this summer, with internationally recognised Italian soprano Concetta Pepere set to perform in the town.

The performance will take place as part of the Cashel International Cultural & Business Weekend, scheduled for July.

The appearance is being delivered through a partnership with Irlandiani, which is supporting cultural links between Cashel and Italy and assisting in bringing the programme together.

Concetta Pepere has performed on major international stages and has shared the platform with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Plácido Domingo and Claudio Baglioni.

She has also performed for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, as well as for President Giorgio Napolitano. Her work has been featured on Italian national broadcaster RAI 1 from the Italian Senate.

Her Cashel performance will form a central part of the Saturday cultural festival, and is being described by organisers as a significant addition to the weekend’s programme.

The Cashel International Cultural & Business Weekend will also see a number of international guests attend, including the Italian Ambassador to Ireland, senior political representatives from the Lazio region, business leaders and media representatives.

A statement from organisers said the event is intended to be a community-wide initiative involving local businesses, schools, clubs, organisations and volunteers. They also thanked Irlandiani for their role in helping to deliver the programme.
