Nenagh Art Therapy - Pride Event

GOSHH (Gender, Orientation, Sexual Health and HIV) and North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC) invite you to a Tipperary Pride Art Therapy session. We are grateful to have the support of IACAT registered Art Therapist Frances Hassett, who will be facilitating each 2-hour session. Body Mapping will be the main focus of the session. This event will take place in The New Institute in Nenagh.
Body mapping is the visual process of creating body maps using drawing, painting or other art-based techniques to express various aspects of our lives, bodies and the worldviews. Body mapping is really a way of telling stories and has been compared to totems that contain symbols with different meanings, but whose significance can only be understood in relation to the creator’s overall story and experience (Gastaldo et al, 2012).
Please know that there is no need for prior experience in art and all levels are welcome to this non-judgemental and open space. Eoin Burke, GOSHH’s outreach worker for North Tipperary, will be at each event for anyone that might need support during the art therapy.
Saturday 14th August: From 10-12, 12:30-2:30 or 3-5
To allow others to take part in the sessions too, we ask that people only book one session for themselves
10 people max per session
Other times available 12:30pm-2:30pm and 3pm-5pm
For those who are driving to the event, there is plenty of paid parking beside the hall itself, which is free on Saturdays for up to three hours.
If you have any questions on queries please do not hesitate to contact Eoin at [email protected]
