Shrek: The Musical comes to stage at Cashel Community School in Tipperary in early November, promising a night of entertainment for monsters, ogres, princesses, and donkeys alike

Excitement is building at Cashel Community School (CCS) as its fantastic students and dedicated staff come together to bring the magical world of Shrek The Musical to life on stage.

Tickets are on sale now, available online through gr8events.ie or through the school office, with the first of three performances beginning on Thursday, 5th November.

This promises to be a truly special production, said a spokesperson for the school, “filled with music, laughter, colourful costumes, fantastic characters and memorable performances. Based on the much-loved DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical will transport audiences to the magical world of Far Far Away, where fairy-tale favourites come together in a story full of heart, humour and important life lessons.”

However, this production is about so much more than putting on a show, say the school.

“It is a wonderful reflection of what Cashel Community School stands for as a school community. Inclusion, acceptance, belonging and celebrating individuality are at the heart of CCS, and Shrek The Musical brings these values to life in a fun, meaningful and memorable way.”

“At the heart of the story is the message that we should embrace who we are, look beyond appearances and celebrate the qualities that make each of us unique. Shrek teaches us that being different is not something to hide, but something to be proud of. His journey reminds us that everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are and that true friendship comes from understanding, kindness and looking beyond first impressions.”

“The production also highlights the fantastic talent, commitment and teamwork of the students and staff who are working together to make this show possible.

“From the performers learning lines, songs and choreography to the musicians, costume designers, set builders and the many people working behind the scenes, this production is a real team effort. Countless hours of hard work, creativity, dedication and enthusiasm are helping to create a show that the entire school community can be proud of.”

“It is this spirit of collaboration that makes school productions so special. Students and staff are bringing their individual talents together, supporting one another and working towards a shared goal. The result is not just a musical, but a celebration of community, confidence, creativity and the sense of belonging that make Cashel Community School such a special place.”

With its catchy songs, larger-than-life characters, spectacular costumes and heartwarming story, Shrek The Musical promises to entertain audiences of all ages while leaving them with a message that is as important today as ever: you don't have to fit into someone else's idea of perfect to be extraordinary.

Cashel Community School warmly invites families, friends and the wider community to come along, support the students and staff, and experience the magic of this wonderful production.
