2. Robert Byrne (Portroe) Continues to really stand up as the leader of a Portroe team that are really taking on water this year. They have had improved performances gradually as the year has gone on, and Byrne has been a key contributor so far.

4. Liam Hayes (Gortnahoe Glengoole) Part of a defence that was mean considering how much ammo Killenaule had in their arsenal, Hayes was electric on and off the ball all day. Attacked every ball from the front in the game, and even bagged a fantastic point on the run coming out of the defence in the second half.

5. Ronan Connolly (Cashel King Cormacs) Connolly had a barnstorming first half where he hit 0-4 points from play from wing back, and hit another two wides to boot in a frantic start. He is turning into an imposing figure at this level.

6. Michael Cahill (Thurles Sarsfields) Rolling back the years. That's what Michael Cahill is doing for Thurles Sarsfields second team and he was his clever self in the heart of the Sarsfields defence in the win over Sean Treacys. His experience at this level is a massive addition to the team, popping up wherever the ball ended up and just oozes composure on the ball. A classy player still.
