Tipperary gardaí arrest two drivers over Christmas period

Tipperary gardaí's Christmas enforcement campaign resulted in Tipperary Roads Policing Unit arresting two drivers for being  under the influence late Christmas Eve into Christmas morning.

The first being a learner driver, driving unaccompanied, and stopped for driving offences having exited the motorway and a positive DrugWipe test for cannabis.

The second arrest was made a short time after the first with the motorist being over the legal limit for alcohol and a small quantity of cannabis seized.

Both vehicles were seized and both drivers facing prosecutions.

Gardaí added: "Please don’t drive under the influence."
