Tipperary gardaí bid fair well to a retiring garda who gave 30 years of distinguished service

Garda Damian Cleere is retiring from Thurles Garda Station duty
Thurles Garda Station marked the end of an era on Friday as Garda Damian Cleere officially retired following three decades of dedicated service.
A native of Kilkenny and a proud “cat”, Garda Cleere spent the majority of his 30 years serving the Thurles District, becoming a familiar and respected presence in the community.
Family, colleagues and friends gathered at the station for his final cup of tea in uniform after years of distinguished service.
The Black and Amber was hoisted for the day, a gesture met with plenty of good humour. As some colleagues joked, it might be the only chance he’ll get to celebrate with those colours during his retirement.
Garda Cleere leaves behind a long record of service and professionalism.
