2. Cathal O'Reilly Rating: 8/10 An exciting inclusion into the team, and given his youth and inexperience, gave a glimpse of his defensive class with the flick away from Aaron Niland in the first half when a goal was on. He was so composed for a young man in awful conditions. Very promising start to a fledgling senior career.

3. Robert Doyle Rating: 6/10 The exersions of the Fitzgibbon Cup and dodgy conditions all came together to take Doyle off the field in the first half with what looked like a hamstring injury. Was doing the needful up to that and, hopefully, won't keep him out too long.

4. Michael Breen Rating: 6/10 Had his hands full with young Jason Rabbitte all game long. The high ball into the youngster and his aerial threat challenged Breen greatly, but he dug in and held his ground for the most part.

5. Joe Caesar Rating: 6/10 Struggled at times with the energetic Darragh Neary and John Fleming at different times. Caesar was less than composed on the ball, something that is usually his strength and he just got lost in the heavy ground battles for the ball. Better days ahead for him hopefully.
