Tipperary students bring huge pride and joy to their school after historic victory

Bunscoil na Cathrach
November 18, 2025 was a historic day in Bunscoil na Cathrach as the U13 ladies’ gaelic football team won the school’s first Cumann na mBunscoil county final, bringing great pride and joy to Cahir.
Their opponents were Gaelscoil Nenagh and the final took place in Fethard Park.
From the throw-in, the girls played with massive heart and determination. They worked superbly as a unit and showed how teamwork pays off. Their composure on the ball and the wonderful scores they produced were a credit to the skill and effort they have shown all season. It was a thoroughly deserved victory.
They were cheered on by their fellow students, whose chants and encouragement echoed around the field. The school community could not be prouder of the girls and the commitment they showed throughout the campaign.
On their triumphant return to the school, the team was welcomed with a guard of honour and rapturous applause. A heartfelt thank you goes to the community of Cahir, the local GAA clubs, the school community, and all the teachers involved with the team.
It is a day the girls will never forget—and one that will be remembered with pride in Bunscoil na Cathrach. Well done girls!
