There were 11 people on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.
The most overcrowded hospital in the eastern region was Dublin's Mater where there were 39 people on trolleys.
At Portlaoise Hospital there were two patients on trolleys and there were none at Tullamore Hospital.
