ALERT: Kildare gardaí warn of scam text messages

An Garda Síochana Kildare have warned the public over fraudulent text messages from the HSE about medical cards.

The text messages ask recipients to make a payment, but are not genuine.

According to the HSE, these messages are “scams” – the HSE advises it will never ask customers to make a payment or to provide personal bank account details.

Gardaí advise the following to anyone in receipt of these text messages:

• Don't click on any links.
• Don't share your personal or banking information.
• Delete the message.

If you believe you've been targeted by fraud, contact your bank immediately and report it to your local Gardaí.
