Call for corridor linking three areas in Kildare

A green infrastructure corridor linking three adjacent places in Naas should be established.

Green Party politician Bob Quinn said this corridor would connect the Kilcullen Road active travel scheme (the creation of pedestrian and cycles lanes which is not expected to finish before the end of next March) with Fairgreen.

Cllr Quinn said the corridor would also connect to the Naas Lakes and on to the Kilcullen Road roundabout.

Kildare County Council says it is willing to examine measures to improve the green infrastructure.

However, any work required would have to be considered in the context of progressing existing projects and commitments.

Any initiatives to improve green infrastructure would also need to ensure that biodiversity and heritage are protected.
