Kildare County Council (KCC) was asked to provide an update regarding the repair / replacement of broken streetlights in the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD).
Fianna Fáil Cllr Paul Ward asked KCC to provide the update (since the appointment of the new contractor) at the latest MD meeting, which was held on Friday, October 4 last.
KCC responded via its report at the meeting: "The performance of the contractor is monitored using Deadsure, the fault reporting software.
"The data from the software is provided at county wide level and not by MD.
"Therefore, it is not possible to answer the specific request for the Clane-Maynooth MD."
KCC continued: "However, we know that the contractor has been making progress since starting on July 15 last.
"There were 464 active faults on July 15, when the new contractor took over.
"There were 272 active faults as of September 24 last."
