Families move into new homes on site of former Kildare barracks

All homes have an A energy rating
Clúid, Ireland’s leading Approved Housing Body, has begun handing over keys to the 30 individuals and families who will be moving into newly built apartments and duplexes at Magee Quarter in Kildare Town.
The one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom duplexes form part of the new mixed-tenure Magee Quarter development and will provide secure, affordable, long-term homes for 30 households from Kildare County Council’s housing list.
All homes have an A energy rating, ensuring they are economical to run while providing high levels of comfort for residents.
The homes were delivered by Clúid in partnership with Kildare County Council, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency, the Housing Agency and Formation Homes.
Averil Power, Chief Executive Officer of Clúid, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome the new residents to Magee Quarter, Kildare Town. This latest scheme brings to 1,004 the number of Clúid homes in Kildare.
Like all Clúid residents, the individuals and families who are beginning to move into the homes in Magee Quarter will benefit from Clúid’s maintenance, tenant support and community engagement services. We look forward to helping them put down roots and build their futures in a thriving new neighbourhood.”
The homes were developed by Formation Homes. Located in the heart of Kildare Town, Magee Quarter benefits from a central location with easy access to a wide range of services, amenities and transport links, making it an attractive place to live.
In partnership with Kildare County Council, Clúid is on track to deliver a further 147 homes in the county this year. Through its own construction programme, Clúid also plans to deliver at least 70 new-build homes in Kildare over the next two to three years.
