She 'had to get several bus connection with no immediate way of getting home'

It was alleged at a Naas District Court sitting that a man’s former girlfriend had shown up to his workplace and his home, along with her child.

The man said he is living with an elderly relative and he worries what might happen if the woman turns up there when is not present

He claimed that the women has to get several bus connections to get to where he lives and works and she arrives with no immediate way of getting back to her address in Munster, because she does not drive.

“She has no place or way of getting home,” he said, adding that he blocked her.

He claimed she had come to his workplace with the child, adding “I’m afraid I will lose my job.”

He said when she reported it to the gardaí she sent him 14 text messages.

He also alleged the woman, who was present or represented, had threatened to kill herself - but he was told by a garda that they did not believe she is suicidal.

When he told Judge Desmond Zaidan that he had met her on a dating app, the judge commented that these are “lethal and dangerous places.”

The judge said every second relationship seems to originate in this way but “when I was young people met at social occasions or through friends.”

He granted an interim protection order and adjourned the case to June 8.
