Irish National Stud & Gardens to host return of two theatre productions this Summer

Chapterhouse Theatre Company return for this outdoor ‘bring your own seat and blanket event’
The Irish National Stud & Gardens is set to host two magical theatre productions this summer for the first time ever in a new and novel use within the popular Kildare attraction this June and July. Presented by the renowned UK based Chapterhouse Theatre Company, these open-air garden theatre productions promise to be unforgettable experiences set against the beautiful and lush backdrop of the well known tourist venue’s famous thatched cottage and gardens.
Now in their 25th year the Chapterhouse Theatre Company are well known for touring significant historic venues, open air gardens and theatres throughout the UK, Europe and China and perform Shakesperean productions as well as foremost classical literature productions. This is their second visit to the Irish National Stud with their live performance troupe where they will perform in June and July.
On Thursday, June 20, Chapterhouse Theatre Company will present a stunning production of Pride and Prejudice. They will step back in time to the regency world of Elizabeth Bennet and her most charming sisters as they pursue their quests for true love. Whilst her interfering and eccentric mother engineers various courtships, can Elizabeth finally surpass her prejudices to see past the proud exterior of the enigmatic Mr. Darcy? Join family and friends for what promises to be one of the most splendid evenings of the summer.
On Friday, July 12 the Irish National Stud and Gardens will host Beauty and the Beast. This magical story is told with traditional song, beautifully crafted puppet creatures and a host of incredible characters as we delight in a story of friendship and family that spans the ages.
The Irish National Stud’s David Wardell said, “We are always looking at innovating our offering and we always try to optimise the use of our beautiful gardens which are now over 100 years old. We felt that bringing a leading theatre production house to perform in the open air here in Kildare will be really novel and unique and we think that it’ll prove really popular especially for all types of families and couples.”
The gates open at 6.15 pm, and the performances starts at 7.00 pm and visitors are urged to remember bring their own rugs or low-back seating to ensure a comfortable and memorable evening under the summer stars. For more information please visit www.irishnationalstud.ie
