DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A County Kildare man accused of breaking ex-partner's nose has had his case sent forward for trial.

Gardaí present in Naas District Court on Thursday, November 16 last detailed the allegations to Judge Desmond Zaidan.

It would be alleged that on a date in 2022, the man, who cannot be identified due to reporting restrictions imposed by Judge Zaidan in order to protect the identity of the alleged injured party, went to his ex-partner's home and punched her in the face.

The woman allegedly sustained broken nose and suffered from swelling to her face as a result of the alleged assault.

After a book of evidence was served by gardaí on the accused, Judge Desmond Zaidan sent his case forward for trial to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court.

These sittings will commence on January 16, 2024.

Judge Zaidan remanded the defendant on continuing bail until the case resumes.
