Kildare gardaí ‘found man in pool of blood’, Naas District Court told

ALLEGATIONS
Gardaí allegedly found an injured man lying in a pool of blood in Athy.
The accusation was heard at Naas District Court on Thursday, April 4 last.
Judge Desmond Zaidan presided over the alleged assault case, which involved two male suspects: Anton Carew, 44, of Mount Offaly House, Carlow Road in Athy, and Dean Pitt, 25, also of the same address.
Both men appeared before the judge via video-link as both are currently remanded in custody.
It has been alleged by gardaí that on March 29 last, at a property in Athy, gardaí came across the man, who was described as having 'severe head injuries'.
The man allegedly lost so much blood that he required a blood transfusion in order to save his life.
Gardaí also alleged that the man suffered stab wounds, and that a knife was recovered from the scene.
Judge Zaidan adjourned the case involving Mr Carew and Mr Pitt to April 18, to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
