One motorist had no insurance, while the second had a fake driving licence

Naas Roads Policing Unit, working alongside its multi-agency partners, impounded two vehicles recently during targeted enforcement operations in North Kildare.

Vehicle one – a SEAT Alhambra, was impounded for no insurance.

Vehicle two – a Renault Fluence was impounded after the driver produced what appeared to be a genuine driving licence. On examination, it was identified as a high-quality fake.

The driver also tested positive for cannabis and was arrested on suspicion of Drug Driving.

A garda spokesperson stated: “Two vehicles off the road. Two serious offences detected. No Insurance. Fake licences. Drug driving.

“If you think you can avoid detection, think again. Targeted enforcement will continue.

Court proceedings to follow.”
