Plans have been lodged to convert meeting rooms into an oratory or small chapel.

A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council on the matter by The Parish of St Patrick and St. Brigid.

The location of the proposed oratory is Holy Faith Convent, Main Street, Celbridge.

Rear outbuildings are currently being used as parish meeting rooms.

Being proposed is the conversion of these rooms to an oratory, including the construction of a pitch roof over the existing stone walls.

The walls will be insulated and plastered internally and there will be single storey extensions to the east and west, according to planning documents.
