Kildare Racing News: JP and Luke Dempsey on the mark

Luke Dempsey rode another winner in the JP McManus colours as Limerick Lace scored a decisive success in the rated novice chase at Down Royal on Tuesday.
The well-supported Gavin Cromwell-trained 8/11 favourite led between the final two fences and eased clear to score by eight lengths from the Gordon Elliott-trained Irish Breeze.
Arthur Moore was among the winners at Gowran Park on Goffs Thyestes Day where Hands Of Gold won the ladies’ maiden hurdle. Ridden by Aine O'Connor, the JP McManus-owned five year old led before the final flight and pulled clear to score by six lengths from the Gordon Elliott-trained Purse Price at odds of 100/30.
Moore rode his father Dan’s Veuve to win the Thyestes Chase in 1973 and he trained Wylde Hide back-to-back renewals in 1995 and 1996.
DUNDALK
Johnny Murtagh sent out 7/2 chance Malacanne to win the eight-furlong handicap at Dundalk on Friday evening. Monasterevin jockey Shane Kelly brought the three-year-old with a late rattle to beat Fozzy Stack’s Arabian Legend by three-parts of a length.
Murtagh’s fellow Curragh trainer John O'Donoghue took the six-furlong conditions’ race with Song For Whoever, the easiest winner of the session. The Genesis Thoroughbreds Club-owned 8/15 favourite raced clear under Billy Lee from the furlong pole to win by three and a quarter lengths from the Natalia Lupini-trained Dynamite Katie.
NAAS
Trainer Oliver McKiernan was a winner at Naas on Sunday where Aarons Day scored an easy success in the novice handicap chase.
The Phillip Enright ridden 3/1 favourite led before the second last fence and pulled away to score by seven and a half-lengths from Henry de Bromhead’s Percy Warner. The front-running tactics employed by Keven Sexton saw Doyen Ta Win take near two-mile handicap hurdle.
The Newbury Syndicate owned five-year-old, trained by Declan Queally, made all the running and while the 6/1 chance was clear for most of the way, she just lasted home to hold off the late surge of the Philip Dempsey-trained 5/2 joint-favourite Neveradullmoment by a nose, the pair seven lengths clear of the Barry Connell-trained Low Style, the other market leader.
