Kildare Yorkshire terrier looking for a nice home

This little two year old male Yorkshire Terrier is looking for a new home.

He is described by his temporary foster Mum as “a dote” and loves cuddles and lots of attention. He is very energetic and playful.

He caused lots of concern on the days following the recent snow when he decided to go for an adventure and slipped out of his owner’s garden. True to his name, Scooter sped away and quickly vanished.

The close community in Suncroft made a huge effort in searching the fields and roads in the area, along with some of our shelter volunteers. They searched with torches late into the night. Everyone was worried for Scooter because it was very frosty.

Early the following morning two shelter volunteers took up the search again. A man had discovered a small dog sleeping in his turf shed overnight, but when he approached him, Scooter quickly ran off into the fields. Because his light brown coat matched the surrounding landscape it was virtually impossible to spot him.

Luckily enough one of our volunteers had brought her own dog with her, and as they scanned a thick gorse covered ditch, Scooter made a growl at her dog.

They couldn’t see him so they followed the growls as they scrambled though the dense bushes and finally rescued him.

He would be ideal in a home where there are no other dogs and will make a lovely companion who will happily sit on your lap all day. Based on his history a well fenced garden is a must for Scooter. If you are interested in adopting him please visit our website kwwspca.ie.
