UPDATE

A Dublin man is contesting the State's claim that he allegedly assaulted a security guard at a festival in Palmerstown Estate, County Kildare.

Back in November of last year, Naas District Court was told about the allegation, which relates to one David Mangan of 12 Sallowood View, Santry Avenue, Ballymun, Dublin 9.

Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that the 60-year-old was intoxicated while he was attending the Forever Young Festival at Palmerstown Estate on July 17 in 2022.

It was alleged that Mr Mangan bit a security guard under his arm, which allegedly caused some bruising, but no lasting injuries.

However, his solicitor, David Powderly, says that his client is 'fully contesting' the State's version of events.

The case will return to court on November 16 for hearing.
