Man ‘hit ex-partner with a closed fist’, Kildare court told

A woman was struck by her ex-partner in the face with a closed fist.

That was the accusation made by gardaí during an in-camera (in private) court session in Naas District Court on Thursday, July 13 last.

It was claimed that the woman's ex-partner in their County Kildare home on a date in 2022.

The woman allegedly suffered swelling following the alleged assault.

Gardaí further alleged that she was hospitalised for her injury.

Bail was granted for the man on the condition that he must not have any direct or indirect contact with any witnesses involved in the case.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the case to a date in November to allow time for a book of evidence to be presented.
