Man was banging and shouting at bedroom door

A long history of substance and alcohol abuse
A man with 29 previous convictions breached a safety order and was verbally abusive to his partner, Naas District Court was told.
The court heard that the gardaí were contacted and when they arrived there was a woman outside the home and said the man had breached the order. She said he had called her names.
It was also claimed that there was banging and shouting at a bedroom door at the property.
Sgt Mary Meade told the court that 10 of the 29 previous convictions related to breaches of family law orders.
Judge Desmond Zaidan asked if the man wanted him to send him to jail and through an interpreter the man said he had a long history of substance and alcohol abuse and had given up both seven months previously - about two months after the incident.
Solicitor Tim Kennelly said the woman wants the relationship to work for herself and the child.
Mr Kennelly also said that the woman attends court with him and the court heard that the man’s last conviction was in May 2023.
The man was bound to the peace for 12 months by Judge Zaidan.
