Naas claim Kildare Senior Camogie title with thrilling final win over Celbridge

Naas Senior Camogie team claimed the senior division 1 league title in Clane GAA on Sunday after a ferocious battle with Celbridge. It was Celbridge who got off to the better start with early scores from Susie O Carroll. Celbridge continued to impress and led at the break by two points. Emer Reilly was in top form for Celbridge and her sweeper role in defence was causing problems for Naas. However the Naas team dug deep, a goal from Tara Doorey in the 46th minute brought them back to within one point of close rivals Celbridge and further points from Ailbhe Ryan, Tara Bedford and a last minute free from Aine Conway meant Naas reclaimed the lead in the last few minutes to emerge with a 2 point win. A thrilling battle between two of the top teams in Kildare Camogie.  Aoife Stynes of Naas proudly accepted the cup from Anne Lynch of Kildare Camogie Fixtures committee.
