New Garda Chief Superintendent appointed to Kildare, Laois and Offaly

Laois Offaly Kildare has a new Garda Chief Superintendent.
Chief Superintendent Anthony Lonergan was appointed to Laois/Offaly and Kildare Garda Division on promotion from his role as Garda Superintendent based in Waterford.
He replaces Laois resident, Chief Superintendent John Scanlan who retired from his role after 14 years at the helm in the Division last April.
The newly appointed Chief Superintendent was the face of an appeal for missing Laois woman Imelda Keenan earlier this year.
His appointment was announced alongside appointments and allocations of Chief Superintendents and Superintendents today, resulting from promotions and consequential transfers nationwide.
