REVEALED: Details of unauthorised developments brought to the forefront by Kildare County Council

The number of unauthorised developments within County Kildare in the year 2022 was highlighted by Kildare County Council.

The information was given to local representatives present at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which was held on Wednesday, March 15.

There were 205 new cases referred to in 2022.

The number of cases closed was listed as 245 (this figure includes cases prior to 2022).

The number of warning letters issued in 2022 was 356.

The number of enforcement notices served was listed as 132.

KCC noted that activity on unauthorised developments is not provided by MD, as the current system does not facilitate an activity report by (individual) municipal districts.

In addition, the council noted that there were around 2,500 live cases across County Kildare.
