Start date proposed for new fire station in County Kildare
The station would be based in Maynooth
An update on the provision of a new fire station for Maynooth has been given by Kildare County Council (KCC).
The matter was among the topics discussed at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD )meeting, which took place on Friday, May 3 last.
Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan, who is also the Cathaoirleach for the MD), asked KCC: 'Can the council give a full update on the provision of a new fire station for Maynooth and a timeline as to when works will commence?'
In response, KCC said to Cllr Durkan: "Those contractors who previously submitted tenders for the construction of the new fire station at Maynooth have been informed of the outcome of the tender analysis process.
"The required standstill period closed on April 24, 2024.
"KCC will now proceed to sign a formal contract with the successful contractor."
