UPDATE: Alleged assault offence is downgraded at Kildare court
ACCUSATIONS
An alleged assault offence was downgraded, gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court on Wednesday, April 20.
The comments were made in the case of Bryan Caul with an address given as Apartment 2E, Roseville Court, Newbridge.
Back in November, it was alleged that the 30-year-old assaulted a woman on the Main Street of Naas on August 8 last.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence, which was initially recorded as an alleged Section 3 Assault Causing Harm offence, but on the latest court date, the court was told that the charge was downgraded to an alleged Section 2 assault.
Mr Caul also faced an allegation on the latest court date of commiting a public disorder offence while intoxicated, and also for allegedly using threatening or abusive language, at a location in County Kildare on October 5 last.
The case was adjourned to July 27 for hearing on all matters.
