This would reduce plastic waste

Water filling stations and fountains should be provided in County Kildare.

Requests for the stations and fountains have come from two councillors - Angela Feeney and Paul Ward.

Cllr Feeney said the stations would "encourage members of the public to reduce their plastic waste."

Cllr Ward said funding is available under a new scheme "for the provision of a number of public drinking water fountains" including as sports and recreational areas.
