“The WillowWarm Schools Christmas competition is fast becoming a favourite annual event for me. The combination of a proper fire, sustainability and the firing up of the imagination of smart, clever and innovative Irish primary school children makes for a wonderful competition. Good luck to everyone taking part and I look forward to seeing one clever class in Ireland very soon.” – Ryan Tubridy.
Last year’s winners, Rampark National School in Jenkinstown, Co Louth said the prize made a ‘huge difference’ to their school.
“We have been able to use the funds to refurbish our outdoor classroom with more sustainable toys by the means of upcycling. We purchased more seeds and gardening tools and kitchen appliances to allow us to be more self-sufficient as we introduced the concept of field to fork for our pupils. We made carrot soup, carrot cake, raspberry, blackberry and strawberry jam, and we grew our own pumpkins for Halloween also.” - Rampark National School, Co Louth.
“Without the prize money much of this would not be possible. Also, the absolute joy and excitement that Ryan Tubridy's visit brought to our school is yet to be matched. It was fantastic. Once again, thank you most sincerely for everything that WillowWarm brought to our school community. It was simply magical.”
So, don’t delay, get those thinking caps on and send your entries into willowwarm.ie by 12 noon on December 4!
