Work starts on beautiful new homes in North Kildare

A €2.3 million housing development comprising 14 new homes has commenced at Grattan Park, Shackleton Road, Ballymakealy Upper, Celbridge, Co Kildare.

The development will provide a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes across the site, which connects to The Drive and The Close at Grattan Park.

The scheme includes seven three-bedroom, three-storey dwellings, along with five two-bedroom and two one-bedroom, two-storey homes.

A total of 22 car parking spaces will be provided as part of the development, together with landscaping and associated site development works.

The project forms part of the wider development of Grattan Park, which is currently under construction under a separate planning reference.

The new residential scheme has a total floor area of approximately 1,466 square metres and is being delivered on a site measuring 0.288 hectares.

Construction commenced on August 27, 2026, following a planning application submitted in July 2025. Planning permission was granted in October 2025.

The applicant and main contractor is Brian M Durkan & Co Ltd, while AKM Design is acting as architect and certifier.

The €2.3 million project is privately funded and has been classified as a new-build housing development. The scheme also includes associated access, boundary, drainage, lighting and other site works required to integrate the new homes with the existing Grattan Park development.
