However the property achieved around 30% above its reserve value.

There were a total of 29 bids before the hammer came down at €119,000 in just over two hours of bidding.

The bids jumped from €85,000 to €90,000 and the price then went up in €1,000 amounts.

The property is located close to the pretty Palatine village area and just outside Carlow town.
