Are you patient and special enough to adopt this abused animal? Zelda is crying out for a forever home

Could you give this abused and abandoned dog a loving home?

Zelda is about 7 years old and is a lemon English pointer. She was found abandoned, wandering sick and hungry, having recently had a litter of puppies. It was clear from her condition that she had been used for both hunting and breeding.

The vets estimated that she could have had 8 to 10 litters of puppies; her life had not been an easy one. However, after extensive veterinary treatment and the loving care of the KWWSPCA foster home, she is now back to full health.

"She still has some scars and is initially nervous when she meets new people. In her foster home, over time, she has learned to relax, play, cuddle and be a pet" said Sally McCaffrey of the animal shelter at Athgarvan, Co Kildare

"She loves long walks and is good on the lead. She is good with other dogs but has had no experience with cats. Her new owners will need to be special people, will need to show patience and understanding, they will need to be able to look beyond her scars and marks and also be prepared to give her time to learn to relax with them and trust them fully - she will initially be frightened and wary" added Sally.

"Only somebody who is a complete dog lover and is willing to give Zelda unconditional love and every opportunity to become part of their family should consider adopting her".
