Athy duo Picture This to appear on "Other Voices" tonight

By Kim O'Leary

Athy pop-rock band Picture This will appear on television tonight at 11pm on RTÉ 2 as part of the popular music show Other Voices.

The band, made up of childhood friends Ryan Hennessy (vocals) and Jimmy Rainsford (drums) from Athy, recently performed to 9,000 delighted fans at a sold-out gig in the 3Arena in Dublin on November 8 as well as a hugely successful tour of the United States.

Last week the Athy band’s self-titled deluxe version of their album “Picture This EP” was released with two brand new songs, and the album has enjoyed enormous success in both the Irish and British charts.

The lads will now enjoy some down time this Christmas after a hectic touring schedule taking up much of the summer, and next up for the talented duo will be a tour of Europe in February 2018 which will include concerts in the cities of Cologne & Hamburg, Amsterdam and Stockholm.

Other Voices is a live music series which broadcasts on Irish public service broadcaster RTE 2.

The show (previously called Other Voices: Songs from a Room) first aired in 2003. It is currently Ireland's leading live music series which focuses mainly on alternative music from Irish and international artists, and each December over three days a season is filmed in Dingle, County Kerry during the Other Voices Music Festival.

Watch the Athy duo perform onstage at 11pm tonight on RTE 2 as they participate in Other Voices.
