Breaking: 4 units from Naas and Newbridge Fire Brigades battling farmyard blaze in Sallins

A massive farmyard blaze in an area of Sallins has resulted in units from the Naas and Newbridge fire services being drafted in to deal with the inferno.
The large fire is at the back of a farmyard house near the Bodenstown estate in Sallins.
KildareNow has learned that fire services were called to the scene at approximately 5.30pm after a massive blaze engulfed a large pile of straw that is measuring about 25 metres in length and 5 metres in width.
Four fire engines are currently operating at the scene, although just two pumps are being used to control the blaze. A further three fire service vehicles are also at the scene.
KildareNow has been told that the fire was more than likely started deliberately, although it is as unclear who phoned in to report it to the emergency services.
A member of the fire service said that the blaze is currently under control and that there is no threat of it spreading any closes to the adjacent house. It will take a number of hours to put the fire out according to one member of the fire brigade.
