BREAKING: Green Party chooses new man to replace resigning Kildare councillor

Naas-based financial adviser Bob Quinn is to become the newest member of Kildare County Council.
The Green Party looks set to nominate Mr Quinn to replace the departing Colm Kenny, according to Kfm Radio.
Mr Quinn lives in Naas and, coincidentally, is a near neighbour of Sean English, the former Naas publican who was the first GP member of Kildare County Council.
Mr Quinn will also become the second Green to be nominated to the council rather than winning a seat. He takes the place of resigning councillor Colm Kenny on the Naas Municipal District.
Cllr Kenny was himself nominated to replace Vincent P Martin, who vacated the role to take up a seat in the senate, and never contested an election.
Mr Qinnn will take up the job with about a year to run to the next local elections.
